What’s the need of this post?? The only reason is that I wish something of this kind is available for me on google just to go through... but sadly it isn’t. so I decided to write it myself with the knowledge I have and that I got by a thorough search on the net..
But let me tell u this isn’t any professional advice. This is mine, entirely mine and more so a compiled one from various sources.
Well, really it’s a high time to ponder over this question. Many of us will be wondering what to do next after M.B.B.S., Most of us will be trying to get into MD/MS specially medicine, surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics & Radiology. Year after year the level of competition is increasing, making it tougher and tougher to get a seat in the subject of our choice. If we fail to secure a Post graduation seat, it’s not the end of the world. There are a lot of other profitable and fulfilling avenues available for the doctor of the 21st century.

1) Diploma
2) Jobs in private or government hospitals
3) Private practice
4) Direct permanent commission or short service commission in army
5) Civil services
6) Union public service commission jobs
a) Assistant divisional medical officer in the railways
b) Medical officer in municipal corporations
c) Central health service jobs
d) Indian ordinance factories health services (ministry of defense)
7) Teaching in medical colleges
8) Clinical research
9) Administrative field
10) Hospital management
11) Master of sciences
Well now we have known what the opportunities are, we will get to know each one in detail.
